Under the Patronage of the Egyptian Ministry of Investment & International Cooperation, the International Labor Organization (ILO) in cooperation with the Arab Institute for Leadership Development of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) organized an event that entitled "Academy on Green Jobs Promotion in the MENA Region" that will be held unduring the period from 29 October - 2 November 2017, at AASTMT AbuKir Campus – Alexandria.
It`s worth to mention that AASTMT will host the event and the specialized training programs that will be held with the participation of AASTMT distinguished Academic staff members, in addition to the preparation and organization of the event.
The ILO has been increasingly active inpromoting environmental sustainability through the engagement of the actors of the world of work. The concept of “green jobs” signals the particular angle the ILO takes to preserve and restore a sustainable environment and embodies the qualitative notion that green jobs must be decent jobs, as in Egypt, the ILO project Decent Jobs for Egypt’s Young People (DJEP) financed by Global Affairs Canada (GAC) has, since 2011, facilitated access for youth to more than 3,000 employment opportunities, with a particular emphasis on green job creation at both the national and local level in its target Egyptian governorates .
