The Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) launched the International TouMaLi Conference 2022 that will be held during the period from 10 - 11 October 2022, at AASTMT AbuKir Campus - Alexandria, and entitled "Contribution of sound waste management systems to sustainable tourism and the protection of marine ecosystems". AASTMT organized the conference with regarding to "Toumali" project, in cooperation and partnership between AASTMT and the German University of Rostock, a number of research entities in the Mediterranean region, and a number of countries, as "Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco".
It is worth to mention that H.E Prof Dr. Yasmine Fouad - Minister of Environment participated in the conference activities through the online platform, and pointed out the importance of TouMaLi project, praised AASTMT role in TouMaLi and leading role in the environmental work, and confirmed on the importance of project timing regarding to the Climate Conference COP 27.
The conference activities were held in the presence of Prof. Dr. Michael Nell - Representative of University of Rostock, Prof. Dr. Axel Borschmann - Representative of the Ministry of Environment in Germany, Ms. Samira Abadi - Representative of Environmental Protection at the Ministry of Interior in Tunisia, Mr. Karam Amzel - Representative of the Ministry of Energy and Development in the Kingdom of Morocco, Prof. Dr. Abdullah Nassour - Assistant Professor of Waste and Resources Management at University of Rostock in Germany, Prof. Dr. Tarek Elaraby - Head of Waste Regulatory and Management Authority at the Ministry of Environment - Egypt, in addition to a group of AASTMT Officials, and a group of specialists concerned with the environmental affairs.
