As the Arab Republic of Egypt is gearing up to host the UN Climate Change Conference 2022 (UNFCCC COP 27) that is scheduled to be held in November 2022, in Sharm El-Sheikh, and in light of the efforts of achieving sustainable development as implementing Egypt’s 2030 Vision through preserving the environment to improve the quality of life as considering the future generations and part of the National Climate Change Strategy 2050. The Arab Republic of Egypt is launching a National Initiative for Smart Green Projects in all governorates under the directives of H.E President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi - President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, to activate the initiative as a pioneering initiative in the field of sustainable and smart development and dealing with the environmental dimension and the effects of climate change. The initiative will chart a map for each governorate`s smart green projects, connecting them with funding agencies and attracting the necessary investments.
In this regard, H.E Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghafar Ismail Farag - President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) is encouraging AASTMT Academic staff and researchers to participate and to submit their papers in accordance with the initiative projects.
It should be noted that the submission of projects will be through the initiative’s electronic platform (http://www.sgg.eg), starting from Sunday 21- 8- 2022, till Wednesday 7- 9- 2022, as the announcement of the winning projects will be on Thursday 15- 9- 2022, in accordance with the terms and conditions on the initiative`s website.
