Within the framework of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) endeavor to always look to new future prospects, and its keenness to remain as one of the effective arms and one of the specialized organizations of the League of Arab States to provide its services to Arab countries to achieve their national goals, AASTMT will host the meetings of the Arab Artificial Intelligence (AI) Working Group that will be held on Wednesday and Thursday 1st - 2nd of December 2021, at AASTMT Alamein Campus.
The meetings was started on Wednesday 1- 12- 2021, in the presence of H.E. Prof. Khaled Wali - Director of the Communications and Information Development Department of the League of Arab States, H.E. Prof. Sally Radwan - Advisor to the Minister of Communications and Information Technology - Head of the Arab team, and H.E Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghafar Ismail Farag - AASTMT President, in addition to the members of the Technical Secretariat of the Council of Arab Ministers.
The Arab Artificial Intelligence (AI) Working Group meeting was held to discuss a number of topics, including considering developing an Arab AI strategy, listing AI issues and areas of priority to Arab countries, enhancing cooperation to bridge the digital divide between developed and developing countries, and overcoming disparity of technological capabilities through exchanging expertise and developing a joint framework for capacity building in the Arab World.
