World Maritime Day “2018” Celebration

Within the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) role in serving the maritime transport sector, H.E Dr. Hisham Arafat – Egyptian Minister of Transport honored His Excellency Prof. Dr Gamal Mokhtar - AASTMT Founder and Former President as His Excellency considered to be a symbol of the maritime transport sector, as H.E Egyptian Minister of Transport honored H.E Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghafar Ismail Farag - AASTMT President in recognition of his role in the development of the maritime transport sector.
World Maritime Day “2018” Celebration was held on Tuesday 25- 9- 2018, at the port of Alexandria, in the presence of H.E General Ahmed Khaled Hassan - Commander of Naval Forces and H.E Admiral Reda Ismail - Head of Maritime Transport Sector, in addition to the Heads of the board of directors of various ports and companies specialized in the maritime transport industry.
The World Maritime Day is an official day of the United Nations held annually to focus on the importance of maritime transport and maritime activities, highlighting the significant contribution of IMO and Member States to global efforts to improve shipping safety, security and efficiency and the protection of marine environment.
