"Session 23" Of ESCWA "Transport and Logistics Committee" at AASTMT AbuKir Campus

The Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport hosted the 23rd session of the Transport and Logistics Committee that is organized by the Executive Secretariat of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) during the period from 20 - 21 October 2022, at AASTMT AbuKir Campus - Alexandria. The session was held in the presence of H.E Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghafar Ismail Farag - AASTMT President, H.E Prof. Mohamed Mokhtar El-Hacene - Director of the Economic Development and Integration Division of ESCWA, H.E Dr. Yarob Badr - Regional Advisor on Transport and Logistics at UNESCWA, H.E Prof. Dr. Bahgat Mohammed Abu Al-Nasr - director of the Department of Economic Integration and Supervisor of Transport and Tourism Department of the League of Arab States, and Prof. Dr. Mustafa Rashid - Economic Adviser and Assistant to AASTMT President, in addition to a group of officials from the ministries of transport in Arab countries.

It is worth to mention that the committee reviewed the activities of session 22, including ESCWA secretariat activities and the transport and logistics developments in the member states, as the committee discussed the use of hydrogen in transport, and the available opportunities in the region Arabic, as well as the applications of block chains in the logistics sector. finally, the committee discussed the issues related to the traffic safety, and the preparation of transport professions in the Arab region as well as the future challenges.
