AASTMT students Robot For Autism Children

The Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) team of Alexandria College of Engineering and Technology students of Computer Engineering Department implemented an innovative project for designing a robot to develop the communication skills of Autism Children, and that was held under the supervision of Dr. Sherine Youssef - Head of the Computer Engineering Department at AASTMT Alexandria College of Engineering and Technology, where the students named the robot "Mako", which is the first letters of the students` names.
It is worth to mention that the device is a trained intelligent human Robot that aims to deliver interactive, visual and kinetic features to help a child with autism, as to serve and stimulate their skills in many aspects of their daily lives such as education and social interactions, which enhances their general skills, especially communication skills, where the Robot has some characteristics such as navigation, sound, motion and visual effects, and acts as a companion and helps in the stimulation of children`s communication skills, as it is equipped with the machine learning techniques for artificial intelligence to allow the robot to act in an intelligent way.
