As part of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport’s (AASTMT) strategy to strengthen the integration between academic education and labor market requirements, the College of Language and Communication at Smart Village organized its first Job Day in collaboration with A Group Holding for Media, Advertising and Publicity, owner of Al Nahar Network.

The event was held at AASTMT’s Smart Village Campus under the patronage of H.E. Prof. Ismail Abdel Ghafar Ismail Farag, President of AASTMT.

The event was attended by Mr. Alaa El Kahky, Chairman of A Group Holding for Media, Advertising and Publicity, owner of Al Nahar Network; Prof. Yasser El Shamy, Dean of the College of Language and Communication at Smart Village; senior executives from A Group Holding and Al Nahar Network; faculty members; and a distinguished group of graduates from the Colleges of Language and Communication across AASTMT’s three campuses.

The Job Day was organized as part of the cooperation agreement between AASTMT and Al Nahar Network, which aims to establish a sustainable strategic partnership bridging academia and professional media practice. The partnership seeks to prepare and qualify young media professionals capable of keeping pace with the rapid developments in the media industry through specialized training programs and hands-on field training within media institutions, thereby enhancing graduates’ readiness to enter the labor market.

During the opening session, Prof. Yasser El Shamy, Dean of the College of Language and Communication, emphasized that AASTMT’s mission extends beyond providing academic knowledge to establishing effective partnerships with industry institutions. Such partnerships ensure that graduates are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and practical experience required by today’s labor market.

He further explained that the collaboration with A Group Holding and Al Nahar Network represents an advanced model of integration between academic and professional institutions, reflecting AASTMT’s vision of aligning educational outcomes with labor market needs. This is achieved through a comprehensive roadmap that begins with professional preparation and training, progresses to direct exposure to real working environments, and ultimately creates genuine employment opportunities for outstanding graduates.

For his part, Mr. Alaa El Kahky emphasized that developing young talent is one of the key pillars of the Group’s strategy, noting that the future of the media industry depends on preparing generations equipped with knowledge, professional skills, and the ability to adapt to digital transformation and emerging technologies.

He added that the collaboration with AASTMT reflects the Group’s belief in the importance of integration between academic and media institutions, as well as its commitment to providing a professional training environment that enables graduates to gain direct exposure to real-world media practices. This approach contributes to preparing qualified professionals capable of leading the future of the media industry.

The Job Day featured five parallel training workshops delivered by a group of specialists and experts from A Group Holding and Al Nahar Network. The workshops addressed the latest professional practices in advertising, media marketing, AI-powered content creation, television production, and digital media, in addition to several topics related to developments in the media industry and evolving labor market requirements.

The workshops provided participants with valuable opportunities to explore practical applications, interact directly with industry professionals, and gain hands-on insights into contemporary media practices.

At the conclusion of the event, Mr. Hussein Othman, Human Resources Director at A Group Holding, presented the field training program to be implemented within Al Nahar Network. Under the program, graduates will be divided into successive batches, with each batch receiving practical training designed to develop professional skills and strengthen hands-on experience. Outstanding participants will also have the opportunity to join the Group’s institutions, creating a direct pathway from training to potential employment.

This collaboration reflects a shared vision between AASTMT and A Group Holding centered on investing in human capital and strengthening the integration of education, professional training, and employment. It aims to prepare a new generation of media professionals equipped with the knowledge, skills, and practical experience required to meet the demands of modern media, contribute to the development of media institutions, and support the continued growth of the media sector.
