Launching of Advances in Medical, Pharmaceutical and Dental Research Journal
With the support and patronage of His Excellency the President of the Academy, a symposium was held to launch the first issue of the scientific journal of the medical sector colleges at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport entitled Advances in Medical, Pharmaceutical and Dental Research Journal, issued by the Academy Publishing House, and in the presence of the Vice Presidents of the Academy, Deans and a number of scientists in the medical sector, on Sunday, January 16, 2022 at the headquarters of the Academy, Abu Qir

The journal provides a global field for publishing research articles that focus on aspects of medical research, dentistry and pharmacy and their role in developing therapeutic, diagnostic and educational services. It is interested in publishing research that includes different disciplines to encourage integrated research work that aims to serve science and society. The journal also features an international editorial board with the highest level of expertise in various medical fields and a group of experts and consultants, including Prof. Mahmoud AlZalabany, Prof. Mohamed Hisham, Prof. Hosny Fouad, Prof. Tarek Mahmoud and Prof. Evan Saad. The journal aims to provide a platform for researchers in all areas of healthcare where they can publish both basic science, clinical and laboratory research, and all kinds of reviews. The journal also encourages the publication of interdisciplinary research covering the fields of pharmacy, medicine, biomedical engineering, biotechnology, artificial intelligence, and all areas and practices of dentistry.

The editorial board consists of Dr. Amira Mostafa Senbel as editor-in-chief of the magazine, along with Dr. Rasha Abu al-Khair and Dr. Boutros Beshay (Faculty of Pharmacy) and Assistant Lecturer Maha Refaat (Faculty of Dentistry), Prof. Sayed Abul-Magd (Al-Alamein Pharmacy) and Ms. Mona Ashry (Faculty of Medicine El Alamein) as assistants to the editor-in-chief. The magazine is run by Dr. Yasser Gaber, Dean of Scientific Research and Innovation.

Contribution to Sustainable AASTMT

Sustainability has been at the heart of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport “AASTMT” for a very long time. The Abu-Qir campus was founded in 1993 with a vast green area of 53 acres demonstrating our environmental commitment.
On the human resources level, The AASTMT has a community of approximately 30,000 students, 1500 staff, and a huge number of alumni over 50 years. At The AASTMT, we commit to teaching values of tolerance, respect of human rights and civil responsibility.
College of Pharmacy is proud to be actively contributing to the development of all SDGs and to be especially dedicated to the promotion of SDG 3 “Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages” through actions and initiatives adopted by its faculty, staff and students.

Graduation ceremony- First class 2021
The first class has been graduated from College of Pharmacy in 2021 with a total number of 81 pharmacists. Under the auspices of AASTMT President Prof. Ismail Abdel-Gafar, A special event took place on the 9th of October 2001, where the first graduation  ceremony was held. Class 2021 of the BPharm program spent a wonderful night between their parents, and Professors and real father.

National and International Collaborations
The College has an active academic institutional membership at the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) and has collaborated with various national and international institutions such as Bradford University, Belarusian Medical State University, Philipps Universitat Marburg and Universitat De Saarlandes Germany, University of the Basque Country Spain, American Society for Healthcare System Pharmacists ASHP, Cairo University, Alexandria University, Damanhour University, Beirut Arab University, Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA), Pharmacists Syndicate as well as major pharmaceutical companies and hospitals in Alexandria and El-Alamein. The college has an active advisory council whose members are distinguished figures from industry and pharmaceutical business community.

Learning and Training Facilities
The main points of strength of the College’s academic programs are the integration of disciplines as “knowledge clusters”, special interest to training/experiential and interprofessional learning. In addition to the distinguished educational service that is provided with the help of advanced facilities such as the Educational Pharmaceutical Factory, the Educational Pharmacy, applications of artificial intelligence such Body Interact Virtual Patient apparatus, and Simulation programs such as Computer Aided Drug Design, together with a distinguished electronic infrastructure, learning management system platform and electronic library. The college also possess two Central research laboratories and researchers’ rooms distributed over two floors in the College building, and students receive training on the basics of scientific research under the supervision of faculty members and publish the results of their research in scientific conferences.
