Graduation Requirements
After finishing the study in the college of Pharmacy, the candidate receives Bachelor of Pharmacy.The duration of the study in this program is five years according to the credit hour system. Each academic year is divided into two semesters (15 weeks each). Some courses may be given during a summer semester for 6 - 8 weeks of condensed study. The credit hour is the unit of study measurement and it is equivalent to one hour of lecture per week or at least two practical hours or 4 hours of field training per week for one semester.
To be qualified for Bachelor of Pharmacy the candidate must:

  1. Complete 195 credit hours courses divided on 10 semesters (5 years) and 640 hours as experiential learning I, II, III and IV (Summer Training) divided on 4 stages in the summers (160 hours each), following semester 4, 6, 8 and 10
  2. The 195 credit hours courses are subdivided as follows:
    • 13 credit hours University requirement
    • 174 credit hours mandatory college courses
    • 8 credit hours elective pharmacy courses (4 courses 2 credit hours each)
  3. Complete field training (Experiential Learning I, II, III and IV) with a total of 640 hours. These credits are graded as Satisfactory “S” or Fail “F” and required for graduation Each of these summer trainings is one month, therefore the total number of actual training hours is 8 contact hours per day X 5 days per week X 4 weeks = 160 hours
    Experiential Learning I and II is conducted in community pharmacies (160 hours), Experiential Learning III and IV is conducted in hospital pharmacies (80 hours) and pharmaceutical factories (80 hours). This adds up to a total of 640 training hours.
  4. The student must earn a cumulative grade point average of at least 1.0 (D equivalent to 60%)

After achieving the requirements of degree attainment and completing graduation procedures, the nationality of the Academy Alumni cannot be altered. It is also prohibited to improve the GPA after the end of the study years and obtaining the degree. Student nationality alteration may be considered during the years of study in accordance with the legal constraints specified by the Academy.
