Our PharmD Clinical students visited the research laboratory at the Manchester Educational Building within Al-Mowasat Medical Educational Complex, accompanied and guided by their biochemistry course lecturer, Dr. Reham Shamseddin. The visit aimed to provide hands-on experience with various laboratory instruments and proper handling of samples, including labeling, blood specimen collection, and storage techniques. Students also learned about essential laboratory quality control measures, practiced blood sampling and the separation of serum and plasma, and performed measurements of core clinical chemistry analytes such as blood glucose. Additionally, the students toured the molecular biology lab to explore advanced techniques used in modern research. This educational experience was an excellent opportunity to bridge theoretical knowledge with practical applications in a professional research environment.
