RobEn UAV Team of the College of Engineering Achieves Prominent Placement at the 9th International Military Technical College Competition

The College of Engineering and Technology, Heliopolis Branch, is excited to announce the success of the RobEn UAV Team in the 9th International Military Technical College Competition (General Ibrahim Selim Award) in the fixed-wing autonomous unmanned aerial vehicles category.

The team competed with two aircrafts and secured second and sixth place out of 16 participating teams, including prominent international competitors as the Chinese Army’s delegation.

The team’s aircraft distinguished itself by performing fully autonomous take-off, landing, and mission execution, without any human intervention. The missions included:

            - Precise aerial payload drops of multiple loads.

            - Autonomous target recognition and geolocation using artificial intelligence.

            - Long-range flight along a designated 20 km path at speeds up to 100 km/h.

This milestone would not have been possible without the unwavering support of:

            - Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag, President of the Academy.

            - Prof. Dr. Yasser Galal, Dean of the College of Engineering and Technology, Sheraton Branch.

            - Dr. Hadi Elhelw, Dean of Student Affairs.

as well as the dedicated guidance of:

            - Dr. Sameh Shaban, Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department.

            - Dr. Ahmed Abdel Latif, academic advisor and team supervisor.

            - The mechanical engineering workshop technicians, whose technical assistance was invaluable.
