The Architecture Student Contest, is a twostep competition: the National Stage and the International Stage. The competition is a great chance for architecture students to gain professional experience while discovering the importance of sustainability in modern construction. It was first organized in 2004 by Saint-Gobain Isover in Serbia and became an international event in 2005. The last edition in Helsinki attracted 1,300 students from 29 countries. The goal of the Architecture Student Contest is to provide students with a unique experience more closely related to a “real” client request. Thus, students can propose ideas under realistic constraints while addressing sustainability criteria
Winning teams from local phases around the world advance to the final international stage. The Egyptian local phase consistently draws strong participation from various esteemed national universities.
This achievement builds upon the Architecture department's remarkable success in the 2024 edition of the competition. Last year, two teams from the department earned first and third place in the local phase. Notably, the three members of the first-place team were invited to Finland to represent Egypt and present their project at the international level.
