Agreement with Matrouh Governorate for the Development of Visual Identity and Creation of Sustainable Communities.

Major General Khaled Shuaib, the Governor of Matrouh, expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation to Professor Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar, President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, and to all the team from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (Alamein campus) at the Academy who participated in designing the proposed visual identity for Matrouh Governorate. This came during the reception of the visual identity design for Matrouh on Saturday, alongside a comprehensive presentation of the proposal details, attended by Dr. Ahmed Al-Safti, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the Academy's branch, members of the team, Engineer Amal Arafa, Director of Urban Planning, and Mr. Mohamed Anwar, Director General of the Tourism and Resorts Department.
This initiative falls within the framework of ongoing collaborative efforts between the Academy and the Governorate, following the signing of a protocol last March to prepare a guide project for the visual identity of Matrouh Governorate. The joint team provided all necessary information and supporting elements to finalize the visual identity in the most comprehensive and appropriate manner, encompassing heritage, economic, tourism, and entertainment elements, as well as projects where the visual identity could be applied. Additionally, the framework for the visual identity was established and an illustrated guide for the governorate was prepared as required by the Ministry of Local Development. The prioritization of implementing the visual identity on facilities such as city entrances and public transportation, as well as souvenirs and gifts, was also directed, alongside efforts to promote it.
The objective of establishing a visual identity that reflects Matrouh Governorate is to highlight the core cultural, historical, natural, and touristic values of the governorate and to provide a distinct visual identity for all its hallmark features, thereby enhancing the visual character of the region and promoting its tourism.
This initiative is part of the state's efforts to elevate the quality of services and develop the capitals of governorates and Egyptian cities, while improving the public image through developed local development programs aiming to establish sustainability plans that contribute to urban and rural development and enhance the environment, supporting local and sustainable community services.
The Prime Minister's decision to form a technical committee to study the proposal for creating a visual identity for each governorate in the Republic aims to deepen the concept of national belonging, particularly among youth and children. This includes issuing an illustrated guide for the visual identity of each governorate and identifying guiding projects for implementing the visual identity in the significant and vital areas of each governorate's capital. This effort is a collaborative one between the Ministry of Local Development and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and involves the formation of working groups in every governorate based on local university participation to ensure the visual identity is delivered with a high degree of professionalism and quality.
