The Energy Research Unit, headed by Dr. Iham Zidan, in coordination with the Department of Mechanical Engineering, headed by Prof. Dr. Ali Ismail Shehata, at the Faculty of Engineering and Technology – under the Deanship of Prof. Dr. Akram Soliman El-Solmy, at the Abu Qir Main Campus, announces the organization of a two-day educational training visit to one of the major port projects in East Port Said. The visit is open to final-year students from the following departments: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Control Engineering, Industrial and Management Engineering, Construction and Building Engineering, and Marine Engineering and Offshore Platforms.
The visit will take place on May 17 and 18, 2026, and aims to provide students with a valuable opportunity to experience real working environments and gain on-site exposure to one of the major port projects in East Port Said. This contributes to bridging the gap between academic study and practical application, while enhancing students’ technical and professional skills.
This visit also represents a rich and inspiring educational experience that broadens students’ understanding of engineering practices within large-scale port projects. It offers direct exposure that supports their readiness for the job market and strengthens their future career prospects.
