The 3rd Training and Employment Forum of the College of International Transport and Logistics CITL Port Said

CITL held The 3RD Training and Employment Forum which included an employment fair featuring 39 companies to provide training and employment opportunities for the CITL’s students and graduates from various sectors, The event coincided with the Third Workshop of the College of International Transport and Logistics in Port Said to discuss industry developments and the most important changes in the business sector in the field of international transport and logistics, where the discussions contributed many experiences from industry experts from various industrial entities.

Under the title "The Role of Technology and Investment in the Green Economy in Achieving Sustainable Development Goals", the workshop discussed the most important issues related to the sustainability of technology and investment in the green economy.

The opening of the employment and training forum and the workshop was attended by the Governor of Port Said, Lieutenant General Adel El-Ghandour, the President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, His Excellency Professor Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag, and a group of experts from the authorities, ports, the economic zone, and international transport and logistics sector institutions.

Coinciding with this, the First Scientific Conference of the College of International Transport and Logistics in Port Said was held in cooperation w ith the University of East Port Said for Technology (Al-Salam), where the conference witnessed 42 research papers from several international and national universities such as King Abdulaziz University in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the University of Queensland in Australia, the British University, and Cairo University, in addition to the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport.

During the opening ceremony, the Governor of Port Said emphasized the importance of this initiative in exchanging ideas and experiences in the field of international transport and logistics, and thanked the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport and Professor Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag, praising the efforts of the Academy and the support and cooperation with the Governorate of Port Said, stating that "the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport is a distinguished Arab scientific edifice and an added value for education and training in the Arab Republic of Egypt and every governorate where it is present".

 

Professor Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag, President of the Academy, welcomed the attendees and said that the training and employment forum and the college's workshop, in conjunction with the First Scientific Conference in partnership with the Technological University of Port Said, is an opportunity to highlight the importance of the role of technology and investment in the green economy to achieve sustainable development goals, and to motivate interested parties to continue working to support creativity and optimal exploitation.

 

Prof. Sara El-Gazzar - The Dean of CITL, reviewed the harvest of 2023/2024 including student activities and training at the in Port Said during the academic year, She emphasized the importance of linking the business community with the academic side, where the focus was on developing educational curricula by introducing the practical aspect, in addition to applying the principles of total quality and modifying regulations to use continuous periodic evaluation methods to link the business community, as well as developing teaching tools and methods using applications in coordination with several companies, authorities, and ports.

She also reviewed the vision of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport to support students with disabilities at the Academy's branch in Port Said.

On the part of the icons of economic authorities and ports, Lieutenant General Mohamed Ahmed Mahmoud, Deputy Chairman of the Northern Region of the Suez Canal Economic Zone, spoke about the components and competitive advantages of the region, whether through its strategic location or through the integration between the ports affiliated with the Authority and the industrial zones. He stressed that there are promising investment opportunities in Egypt, especially in light of the major projects undertaken by the state in the fields of clean energy and the green economy.

The event also witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement with the Technological University of East Port Said, which was witnessed by the Governor of Port Said, Lieutenant General Adel El-Ghandour, the Deputy Chairman of the Northern Region of the Suez Canal Economic Authority, Lieutenant General Mohamed Ahmed Mahmoud, the Dean of the College of International Transport and Logistics at the Academy, Dr. Sarah El-Gazar, and a group of members of the diplomatic and consular corps accredited to the Arab Republic of Egypt.

The President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport expressed his delight at the signing of the agreement, saying that it enhances cooperation in the fields of research and education.
