ZambiaMutual Visits:
• In December 2010, Zambian President Rupiah Banda visited Egypt for talks on ways of promoting bilateral ties.
• From 15 to 17 June 2010, the fourth session of the Egyptian-Zambian joint committee was held in the capital of Zambia, Lusaka.
Assistant Foreign Minister for African Affairs and African Union Affairs chaired the Egyptian delegation.
Seven memorandums of understanding to promote and strengthen cooperation between the two countries were signed during the meetings.
• From April 12 to 13, 2010, a delegation headed by Minister of Trade and Industry Felix Mutati participated in the COMESA Investment Conference in Sharm El-Sheikh.
• From 8 to 9 November 2009, a delegation headed by Minister of Trade and Industry Felix Mutati took part in the fourth ministerial meeting of the Forum on China-Africa in Sharm El-Sheikh.
• From July 15 to 16, 2009, a Zambian delegation headed by Vice President George Kunda participated in the Non-Aligned Movement summit held in Sharm El-Sheikh.
• In June 2008, late Zambian President Mwanawasa visited Egypt to attend the African Union Summit in Sharm El-Sheikh.Contractual Framework:
• Trade Agreement: signed on 02/12/1995 during the first session of the Joint Committee between the two countries in Cairo, but not ratified by both sides.
• Agreement on economic and technical cooperation: signed on 02/12/1995 during the first session of the Joint Commission between the two countries, but not ratified it yet, it was agreed the two sides during the second session of the Joint Committee in Lusaka on 27 – 28 April 2000 to initiate the exchange of the ratification of the Trade Agreement and the Agreement on Economic and Technical Cooperation.
• Memorandum of understanding for cooperation between the point of trade between Egypt and the Council of Zambian exports:
signed on 9/7/1999.
• Cooperation Agreement between the General Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce and founder of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Zambia:
signed through the exchange of letters (Cairo, 13/9/1999, Lusaka, 26/09/1999).
• Agreement on investment promotion and protection:
signed in Lusaka on 28/4/2000 during the second session of the Joint Commission.
• Memorandum of Understanding between the Egyptian Ministry of Electricity and Ministry of Energy Zambia:
signed on 28/3/2000 in Cairo.
• Protocol on cooperation in the field of media:
signed in Cairo on 18/6/1997 between the Union of Egyptian Radio and Television and the Zambian Ministry of Information in the exploitation of the moon channels Egyptian space.
• Protocol of cooperation in the field of Education and Culture: signed in Cairo on 18/6/1997.
• Protocol of cooperation between Ain Shams University and the University of Zambia:
signed in April 2000 in Lusaka.
• Protocol sisterhood between the Faculty of Medicine Ain Shams University Faculty of Medicine, University of Zambia:
signed in April 2000.
• Agreement on the establishment of joint farm in Zambia between the Zambian Ministry of Interior (IPS) and the Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture:
signed during the third session of the Joint Committee in Cairo on 24/5/2006.
• Agreement on technical cooperation between the Egyptian Fund for Technical Cooperation with Africa and the Zambian government:
signed during the third session of the Joint Committee in Cairo on 24/5/2006.
• Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs:
