TunisiaBilateral Relations
• Egyptian-Tunisian relations are characterized by their strength and endurance.
 Bilateral relations between both countries are growing on all political, economic, and social levels, which is reflected in their similar positions and understandings regarding various issues of common interest especially terrorism, extremism, and the Palestinian situation.
Egypt and Tunisia are keen on consulting and coordinating positions in different international and regional forums in the interests of both countries.
• The Egyptian-Tunisian Joint High Commission headed by the Prime Ministers of both countries is the general framework that regulates bilateral relations between Egypt and Tunisia.
The high committee is held alternately between the two countries, which then further assigns sectorial and technical sub-committees in many fields, most notably the political consultation committee, the joint trade committee, the joint customs committee, the joint consular committee, the technical committee for investment, the joint technical committee in the field of electricity, the joint technical committee for road transport, the joint technical committee for maritime transport, the joint technical committee for air transport , the communication and monitoring committee in the field of housing and utilities and urban development, the joint committee in the field of Islamic affairs, joint experts committee in the field of social solidarity.
• The 15th Egyptian-Tunisian Joint High Commission was held in Tunisia from 5-8 September 2015 headed by the Prime Ministers of both countries.Mutual Visits
• H.E. Beji Caid Essebsi President of Tunisia visited Egypt from 4-5 October 2015, where he met with H.E. President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi to discuss a number of Arab and regional issues especially the security challenges, combating terrorism, the situations in Libya and Syria and the Palestinian problem. Both Presidents stressed the importance of promoting cooperation between the two countries to face terrorism and extremism.
They also praised the outcomes of the 15th Egyptian-Tunisian Joint High Commission.
President Essebsi made another visit to Egypt on the 5th of October 2015, where he met Egyptian Prime Minister H.E. Engineer Shreif Ismail, and attended the 42nd anniversary of the October victory celebrations.
• Former Tunisian Foreign Minister Mongi Hamdi attended the inauguration of H.E. President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi.
• In the framework of the meetings of the tripartite coordination mechanism between Egypt, Tunisia and Algeria on Libya, Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry held two visits to Tunisia on February 19, 2017 and December 17, 2017 to discuss ways to support the political settlement in Libya.
• Tunisian Prime Minister Youssef Chahed visited Egypt on November 11, 2017 to participate in the 16th session of the Higher Egyptian-Tunisian Committee.
• Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry held a visit to Tunisia on January 24, 2017 to head Egypt's delegation at the meetings of the political consultations mechanism between the two countries.
He was then received by Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi.
The two sides also discussed means of activating joint Arab action mechanisms, and tackled issues of mutual interest on the Arab, African, and international levels.Cultural Relations:
• Cultural relations between the two countries are intensifying, and Egyptian art troupes participate in a large number of Tunisian festivals.
