1- Political Relations:
The Egyptian diplomatic mission was opened in Malabo in March 2008 at the level of charge d'affaires and then upgraded to the level of ambassador in March 2010.
2- Economic Relations:
The Arab Contractors company:
• Started working in Equatorial Guniea in July 2002.Swedish group companies Cables
• The Swedish company has implemented a project to provide light to five villages in the continental part of Equatorial Guinea, the value of contractual $ 5 million.
3-Cultural relations:
• Al-Azhar offer annual scholarships annually for students from Equatorial Guniea.
• The Ministry of Higher Education provides scholarships to study in Egyptian universities.
• Egyptian International Center for Agriculture offers five annual trainings.Mutual Visits
• Egypt helped Equatorial Guinea in its preparations to host the African Union summit in Malabo in June 2011, through the training of 30 guniean equatorial diplomats, and the training of 40 elements of security for the protection of VIPs.
• Egypt participated in the African Summit in Malabo with high-level delegation, headed by Dr. Essam Sharaf former Prime Minister.
• Visit paid by Minister of Petroleum to participate in the Ministerial Conference of the Gas Exporting Countries in Malabo in December 2012.
• Egypt participated in the summit of Africa - South America ASA with a delegation headed by Assistant Foreign Minister for African Affairs in February 2013.
• Visit of the chairman of Arab Contractors Company to Malabo in May 2013, where he met with President Obiang.• Visit of the Minister of Communications and Transport of Equatorial Guinea Cairo to attend the ICT forum in cairo during the period from 9 to December 12, 2013.
• Visit paid by former Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab to Malabo in May 2014.
• President Obiang's visit to Cairo in June 2014, to participate in President Abdel Fattah Sisi's inauguration ceremony.
• Visit paid by President Abdel Fattah Sisi to attend the African Union summit in June 2014.
• Participation of the Egyptian delegation at the Turkish-African summit in November 2014.
• Visit of President Obiang to Cairo in December 2014.
• Visit paid by Second Deputy President and the Prime Minister of Equatorial Guniea in 2015 in the support of the Egypt investment Conference in Sharm el-Sheikh in 2015.
Contractual Framework
• A memorandum of understanding for cooperation between the foreign ministries of the countries in 2006
• Framework agreement of economic, cultural, scientific and technical cooperation between the two countries in 2010.
• The establishment of a joint committee between the two countries in 2010
• A declaration of intent between the two foreign ministries in 2014.
• Egypt and Equatorial Guinea signed on 9/5/2014 four contracts on joint cooperation in economic domains.
Also the delegation accompanying Mahlab during his visit included the ministers of foreign affairs, agriculture, oil, health and housing.
