Dr. Mohamed Abaza is a distinguished professor and the Head of the Electronics and Communication Engineering Department at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, located in the Smart Village Campus, Giza, Egypt. He holds a Ph.D. in Digital Communications from l'Université de Bretagne Occidentale, France, as well as a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from the Arab Academy. With over 40 publications in renowned journals and conferences, Dr. Abaza has made significant contributions to the fields of multiple-input multiple-output systems, optical wireless communications, and digital communications. He has an impressive citation count exceeding 900 and an H-index of 16. Dr. Abaza plays a pivotal role in accreditation processes, including ABET accreditation, Supreme Council accreditation, ISO 9001:2015 standard, and ISO 27001:2023. He is actively involved in teaching various undergraduate and postgraduate courses, with expertise in optical communications and advanced communication systems. As an IEEE Senior Member, he mentors student clubs such as IEEE and Inceptum, guiding students in their professional development. He has facilitated international training opportunities, including trips to Ferrari factories, enriching students' educational experiences. Additionally, Dr. Abaza participates in the development of new undergraduate programs, ensuring that the curriculum meets industry standards and prepares students for future challenges.
