Prof. Dr. Kareem Mahmoud Tonbol is Professor of Physical Oceanography and Climatology and Dean of the Maritime Postgraduate Studies Institute at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), Alexandria, Egypt. His academic and leadership work focuses on physical oceanography, climate change impacts on coastal and maritime systems, sea-level variability, hydrographic surveying, marine environmental monitoring, maritime sustainability, blue economy, and climate resilience.
