Omneya Attallah received her B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in 2006 and 2009, respectively from the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), Alexandria, Egypt. She received a full scholarship from the AASTMT for her B.Sc. and M.Sc. studies. She graduated as the first of her class in the B.Sc degree. She received her Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering in 2016 from Aston University, Birmingham, UK. Since 2020, she has been an associate professor at the same department. She has been listed in 2022 and 2023 Stanford University’s Top 2% of the World Scientists. Omneya participated in several research projects related to using artificial intelligence in medical and healthcare domains. She was the PI of a project funded by ITIDA and a researcher in another project funded by the STDF.Omneya is an IEEE senior member and professional ACM member. She has several journal publications in highly ranked journals. She also had several conference publications, and she won the best-presented paper at the ACM ICICM 2022 conference. Furthermore, she received several travel awards from IEEE and the Association for Women in Computing (ACM). She also received the 2023 Bioinformatics Sciences Award for her role and contributions in different sectors of bioinformatics and artificial intelligence in biological sciences and her scientific community. At present, she is an editor at the International Journal of Imaging Systems and Technology. She is also a guest editor at Frontiers in Medicine, Frontiers in Human Neuroscience, Frontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine, and Applied Sciences Journals. Besides, she is a reviewer board member of several reputable journals published by IEEE, Springer-Nature, Elsevier, MDPI, and Wiley publishers. Besides, Omneya is a technical committee member of several international conferences.
