biography

Mohamed ElShaib is currently the Dean of Student Affairs at AASTMT Alamein campus. Also, he is an Associate Professor at college of Engineering at AASTMT. He has obtained his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Heriot Watt, UK, his MSc in Offshore Engineering and BSc in Marine Engineering from AASTMT. He is working in the area of Non-destructive Evaluation (NDE). his primary area of research is Structural Health Monitoring using acoustic emission in metallic and composite components. More recently, he is working on Computational Fluid Dynamic and Marine Renewable energy. He is a highly initiative and self-motivated Lecturer, with effective problem solving skills and over 15 years of research and work experience in creating a positive learning environment, with the ability to maintain a consistently high standard of work under pressure. His aim is to encourage his students to be an independent learner and to help their community.
