Sherif Ezzeldin is an associate professor at the department of architecture and environmental design, Arab Academy for Science and Technology and Maritime Transport, Cairo – Egypt. Following a first degree in Architecture (Ain-Shams University 1999, Egypt) Sherif undertook an MSc in Environmental Architecture (Cairo University 2005, Egypt) with a thesis entitled “Aero-Conscious Buildings”. Sherif’s PhD research focused on the potential for and the feasibility of carbon emissions savings from the use of mixed-mode cooling strategies for office buildings in arid climates. The work involved Dynamic Thermal Modeling simulation, suggested an environmental design methodology, examined various control strategies and developed environmental design appropriate guidance. Sherif is interested in teaching environmental studies courses for both graduate and under-graduate students as well as architectural and execution design courses. While working as an architect Sherif participated in several local and international architectural design competitions, winning first and third prize as a team member for "AAST Building" and “the 1st Egyptian science and technology centre in the 6th of October city”. Sherif has also contributed to the design of many residential, commercial and educational projects.
