Investigating the Logistics Barriers to the Seamless Flow of Chinese Motorcycle Spare Parts into Egyptian Automotive Supply Chains

Graduation Project
Start Date : 01 Oct 2025-15 Jan 2026
This project examines logistics barriers affecting the supply chain of motorcycle spare parts in Egypt, a sector that is essential for transportation and delivery services. Using a mixed methods approach, the research combines qualitative interviews with key industry stakeholders and quantitative survey data from 80 supply chain participants. Descriptive statistical analysis and the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) were applied to identify and rank critical logistics challenges. The results indicate that poor planning, weak supplier communication, inadequate warehouse design, and long lead times are the most significant barriers. The study concludes that improving planning practices, strengthening supplier communication, upgrading warehouse infrastructure, and reforming customs procedures are essential to enhancing logistics efficiency and service quality in the Egyptian motorcycle spare parts supply chain.

Enhancing Supply Chain Agility in Egyptian SMEs Through a Cloud-Based Digital Integrated Platform

Graduation Project
Start Date : 01 Mar 2025-01 Jul 2025
This study investigates the challenges preventing Egyptian SMEs from integrating into digitally enabled supply chains. Using a deductive, quantitative approach, data were collected through a structured questionnaire administered to 35 SME managers across multiple sectors. The findings reveal a significant digital maturity gap, with most SMEs relying on basic, standalone digital tools. The main barriers to integration are financial and technical rather than human, particularly high technology costs and system incompatibility. The results indicate strong demand for an affordable, interoperable digital solution. Accordingly, the study proposes a low-cost, cloud-based digital integration platform to enhance SMEs’ supply chain agility, information sharing, and competitiveness. A SWOT analysis was conducted to assess the feasibility of the proposed platform and to inform the final research recommendations.
