Eslam Abdelghany is a dedicated maritime professional and academic with extensive experience in autonomous ship operations, maritime transport and technology. He currently serves as a Maritime Lecturer at the College of Maritime Transport and Technology (CMTT), AASTMT, Egypt, where he teaches all navigational aids subjects, and quality assurance systems based on the ISM Code and ISO Standards. While leading advanced navigation and tanker simulator courses. His work centers on improving maritime education, operational safety, and integrating modern technologies to prepare seafarers for the smart and autonomous shipping era. Eslam holds a Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Transport and Technology, a Master’s Certificate of Competency (CoC), and a Master of Science degree in Maritime Transport, with a specialization in 'Ship Operations and Marine Safety.' His master's thesis, titled "Generic Risk Identification and Prioritization in the Era of Maritime Autonomous Surface Ship’s Operations," highlights his expertise in cutting-edge maritime technology. He is currently pursuing a PhD at AASTMT, focusing on enhancing maritime safety and efficiency through emerging technologies. With extensive experience as a Master Mariner CoC and senior chief officer onboard ADNOC UAE tanker ships, Eslam has a deep understanding of ship operations and marine safety protocols. His academic and research contributions include publishing papers on autonomous ships and participating in international conferences, workshops, and field studies. His research interests center around the risks and safety concerns associated with Maritime Autonomous Surface Ships.
