Amal Amer is a graduate teaching assistant in the Architectural Engineering program at AAST’s Smart Village campus. She earned her BSc from AAST in 2020 and completed her MSc at the same institution in 2025. As a researcher, her interests focus on architectural and urban design, which she explores through the lenses of environmental psychology and behavioral science. She also engages with tools from urban informatics and AI technologies to support her work. Amer is particularly interested in understanding how and why people interact with the built environment, and how such questions can be investigated using ubiquitous technologies. Her experience as a GTA is both broad and substantial. She has assisted in teaching architecture and urban design studios, addressing topics such as spatial poetics, culture and architectural heritage, placemaking, and climate change.
