Laila Ahmed is an assistant lecturer at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AAST), College of Language and Communication, Translation Department since 2016 – present. Laila received an MA degree in translation from Institute of Applied Linguistics and Translation, Alexandria University and is currently pursuing her Ph.D. degree in translation studies from the same Institute at Alexandria University. Laila’s research interests fall under emphasizing the interdisciplinary nature of translation studies and how translation can be used as a tool to help bring change about the world. Laila’s Master’s thesis is about intersemiotic translation, particularly the adaptation of novels into films.
