Short Professional Biography Dr. Mona I. A. Kaamoush is an environmental and marine scientist with more than two decades of academic, research, and applied experience in marine pollution, ecotoxicology, and environmental monitoring. She is a senior faculty member at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AAST), where she has been teaching since 2000 across a wide range of subjects including chemistry, microbiology, marine pollution, environmental protection, waste management, IMO regulations, quality assurance, research methodology, and sustainable practices for marine ecosystem conservation and management. Dr. Kaamoush research focuses on marine pollution monitoring, heavy metal and biocide toxicity, biofouling and antifouling impacts, biological indicators, algal ecotoxicology, wastewater treatment, and marine ecosystem conservation, with recent expansion into AI applications in environmental management and air quality assessment in port and coastal environments. She has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in high-impact international journals, addressing topics such as antifouling biocides, heavy metals, algal metabolism, spatial pollution modeling, air quality impacts of maritime activities, and sustainability challenges in coastal zones. Dr. Kaamoush is actively engaged in professional development, having completed extensive training in IMO model courses, quality assurance, AI in scientific research, leadership in education, risk management, and maritime environmental compliance. She is a frequent contributor to international maritime and environmental conferences and serves as a reviewer for a wide range of reputable international journals in environmental science, marine science, ecotoxicology, and sustainability.
