Dr. Mashhour is an Associate Professor of Geotechnical Engineering at the Department of Construction and Building Engineering. He obtained his B.Sc. degree from Cairo University, and he earned his M.A.Sc and Ph.D degrees from Concordia University. Dr Mashhour is a registered professional engineer (P.Eng) in Alberta, Canada and he participated in several geotechnical engineering projects in Egypt, Canada and other Countries in the Middle East. He is experienced in soil testing, data analysis, design of foundations and shoring systems and computer modeling for various geotechnical applications. He published articles in reputable geotechnical journals and conference proceedings. Dr. Mashhour has joined the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, as a faculty member in September 2016. His research focuses on areas such as: pile design, problematic soils, slope stability and unsaturated soil mechanics.
