Deena Shazly Elshazly is an assistant professor in English literature at the College of Language and Communication (CLC, Cairo Campus). Investigating the interplay between drama, theatre and performance is her research passion. In her PhD thesis, obtained with honours, Elshazly foregrounds the new face and spirit of Postmillennial British theatre. Introducing Post-Postdramatic theatre, the thesis pinpoints theatre’s involvement with hypermediacy and intermediality in the third millennium. She has been a speaker at a number of academic conferences.
