Gamal ahmed Ghalwash

biography

Gamal A. Ghalwash President Consultant for International Maritime Relations Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport Dr. Ghalwash is a Ph.D holder in Maritime Transport Technology, (2004) started his career working on board Merchant Ships for 13 years (1981-1994). He joined the Arab Academy for science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) in 1994 as a Lecturer, Nautical Department, College of Maritime Transport and Technology, 1994-2004. As a member of the AASTMT, during the period 2004-2011 he was graded from Head of Maritime Postgraduate Studies Department to Dean of College of Maritime Transport and Technology. From 2011-2015 he was Vice President for Maritime Affairs, and from 2015-2021 a Vice president for Training, Community Service and Sustainable Development. Meanwhile he is AASTMT President Consultant for International Maritime Relations. In 1999 Dr. Ghalwash, as a Maritime Expert, was a member of the AASTMT group team working on the World Bank Project to develop the Maritime Institute in Bangladesh. The main field of Dr. Ghalwash is Environmental Protection and Maritime Education and Training. He is the head of the AASTMT Team, which participated in the initiation of the Global Maritime Professional Body of Knowledge (GMP-BoK) under the International Association of Maritime Universities (IAMU). In 2024, he is the head of the International Committee for establishing the Second Edition of the GMP-BoK Dr. Ghalwash is the Editor in Chief of the Maritime Research and Technology (MRT) Journal.
