Professor Yasser El Shamy, Dean of the College of Language and Communication at Smart Village Campus, is a distinguished academic and industry leader in design and audiovisual production. With a career spanning decades, he began his academic journey with a degree in Graphic Design from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Alexandria University in 1997, while simultaneously honing his skills in the creative design industry. He earned his master's degree with a focus on "Web-based Animated Graphics," addressing the complex challenge of delivering high-quality animations over limited internet bandwidth. Yasser’s pursuit of academic excellence led him to receive a prestigious scholarship from the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, enabling him to complete his Ph.D. at the Academy of Fine Arts in Frosinone, Italy. His doctoral research on "Establishing Visual Identity for Television Channels through Motion Graphic Design" positioned him as a leading expert in the field. Upon returning to Egypt, Yasser advanced to the rank of professor and transitioned into leadership roles at the Arab Academy, first as Dean of Student Affairs and later as Dean of the College of Language and Communication. In his current role, Yasser oversees the development of cutting-edge academic programs that seamlessly blend theory with practice, fostering an environment where modern technologies and artistic concepts converge. His expertise extends beyond academia, encompassing the production and direction of influential documentary films and animated projects.
