received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from the Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University, Egypt, in 2002 and 2006, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the College of Engineering, Strathclyde University, U.K., in 2009. From 2010 to 2011, he has been with Texas A&M University at Qatar (TAMUQ), Qatar, as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. On March 2011, he joined the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), Egypt as an Assistant Professor. He was promoted as Associate Professor in 2015. His research interests include motor drives, power quality, distributed generation, and power converters for renewable energy systems. Dr. Abdelsalam is the founder of Renewable Energy and Power Electronics Applications (REPEA) research group in 2015. In addition, he is a member of the IEEE Power Electronics and IEEE Industrial Electronics societies, and the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET).
