Dr. Yara Abdelsamie is a full-time staff member at College of Language and Communication (CLC), Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AAST). She obtained her PhD from Universidad Autonoma de Madrid (UAM) where she developed a model for analyzing political tweet genres (MPTG model) and used that model to analyze the official tweets of nine American and Egyptian presidential representatives. Dr. Yara has participated in many European and international conferences. In January 2016, she obtained her M.A. degree in Applied Linguistics from the Faculty of Arts, Helwan University. In June 2009, she obtained her B.A. from the Faculty of Arts, Ain Shams University. Dr. Yara's research interests include Systemic Functional Linguistics, Corpus Linguistics, Social Psychology, Social Semiotics, Computer Mediated Discourse Analysis, Political Discourse and Pragmatics.
