biography

Dr. Yasser Aly Yakout Shehata is a distinguished academic and expert in the field of statistics and quality management. He currently serves as the Dean of the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) in Egypt. With over two decades of experience in higher education, Dr. Shehata has played a pivotal role in enhancing the quality standards of educational programs at AASTMT and other institutions. Dr. Shehata holds a Ph.D. in Statistics from the University of the West of England, Bristol, and a Master's degree in Statistics from the University of Melbourne, Australia, where he also earned his Bachelor's degrees. His research interests include multivariate statistics, statistical quality control, and the application of statistical methods in quality management and decision-making processes. Throughout his career, Dr. Shehata has contributed significantly to the academic community, teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in statistics and quality management. He has been involved in developing and delivering over 200 training programs across Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, and Kuwait, focusing on Six Sigma, statistical quality control, and business analytics, among other topics. In addition to his academic roles, Dr. Shehata has served as a consultant for various organizations, helping to establish and audit management systems that comply with international standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001. His expertise has also been recognized by the American Society for Quality (ASQ), where he previously served as the Egypt Country Counselor. Dr. Shehata’s contributions to research include numerous publications in the fields of statistical methods and quality management. His work has been presented at international conferences and published in reputable journals, reflecting his commitment to advancing knowledge and practice in his field. Dr. Shehata holds dual citizenship in Australia and Egypt, bringing a global perspective to his work in education and quality management. His leadership and expertise continue to drive improvements in educational quality and organizational excellence at AASTMT and beyond.
