Dr. A. Elsawaf is an Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering. He received a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Shimane University, Japan, in 2012. From 2012 to Jan. 2014, he was an Assistant Professor in the Mechanical Design Engineering Department at Helwan University, Egypt. From Feb. 2014 until Sep. 2015, he was a postdoctoral senior researcher at the Czech Technical University in Prague, Czech Republic. Now, he is an Associate Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department at Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), Faculty of Engineering and Technology-Cairo Campus, Egypt. He has twenty years of teaching experience for the undergraduate students and postgraduate. He supervised many undergraduate projects. His interested research areas are structural optimization, dynamic systems response, mechanical vibration control, thermal stresses suppression, modeling and identification of non-linear systems, smart materials application, and optimization of mechanical system. He also joined many projects as a mechanical engineer designer for machine spare parts and as a consultant in the design of non-standard mechanical equipment in the field of wastewater treatment.
