biography

• Dr. Captain Osama Fawzy Ahmed Elbayoumi is a Professor of Fleet Operations and Maritime Ports Management. He is currently the Vice Dean of the College of Maritime Transport & Technology for Educational Affairs, Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT). Dr. Elbayoumi is a retired Naval Captain form the Egyptian Naval forces served for 25 years till retiring, He worked as Naval officer on Egyptian forces fleet Submarines, Coast guard, Egyptian Navy Head Quarter as a Military secretary of the chief in staff, teaching staff member at Military Naval College. Also worked as Merchant marine officer on board RO/RO and container vessels, Egypt. • Dr. Elbayoumi holds a Doctorate degree (PhD) in Fleet Operation and Maritime Ports Management from the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT). He earned his Master of Science " M.Sc. Degree from the Institute of International Transport and Logistics (ITL), AASTMT, Egypt, (International Transport & Logistics), In addition, Dr. El bayoumi has earned his Post Graduate Professional Diploma in international Commercial Arbitration from Arbitration and Mediation Post Graduate Studies Institute Texas, USA April 2013., , Diploma in International Maritime Commercial Arbitration, From the Faculty of law, Alexandria University, Egypt and holds a valid Master Mariner (Certificate of Competency). Dr. Elbayoumi has participated in a number of academic activities, seminars, workshops, and research projects, and has published research papers in various international conferences and journals. Additionally, he has supervised a number of undergraduate and post graduate research projects. Finally, he has a number of professional affiliations; International Association of Maritime Lecturers (IMLA), Arab Institute of Navigation (AIN).

  • Retired Naval Captain
     1989 – 2009: Naval officer on Egyptian forces fleet Submarine, Coast guard,  1996-1997 Egyptian Navy Head Quarter as a Military secretary of the chief in staff.  1997-1999 teaching staff member at Military Naval College.
  • Commercial Marine chief officer
     2008 – 2009: Owner reprehensive, Chief officer &security officer of Roll on – Roll off ship owned by Ministry of defence

     Feb 2009 Marine Captain Lecturer, at the Collage of Maritime Transport & Technology (CMTT), Navigation Department, Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport “AASTMT” since 2009 till now.

    • 2009- 2014 he is responsible for teaching Seaman Ship principles, Maritime Safety, and Fire Fighting Systems courses, ship handling, watch keeping & Maritime Law & IMO conventions.

    • 2012 – 2017: Coordinator for Seaman Ship Courses, in this position; he is assuring that all technical and administrative aspects are performed in a fully professional, transparent and ethical manner, and in line with the AASTMT regulations.
