Prof. Sherif Ezzeldin is a Full Professor of Sustainable Design and Environmental Control at the Department of Architectural Engineering and Environmental Design, AASTMT. He is currently serving as the Dean of the College of Engineering and Technology (South-Valley Campus). Prof. Ezzeldin has made significant contributions as a dedicated Educator, Researcher, and Practitioner in the field of Sustainable Architectural Design, particularly in Arid Climates. His research bridges Environmental Design Theory with practical applications, enriching both academic knowledge and Sustainable Architectural Practice in Egypt and the broader Middle East region. Prof. Ezzeldin graduated in 1999 from the Architectural Engineering Department at Ain Shams University, Egypt. He earned his MSc in 2005 from Cairo University, with a focus on Aero-Conscious Buildings. He later obtained his PhD in 2011 from the Institute of Energy and Sustainable Development (IESD) at De Montfort University, UK, where he investigated Mixed-Mode Cooling strategies for Office Buildings in Arid Climates. Prof. Ezzeldin teaches at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and actively supervises and examines postgraduate research. He has authored over 20 peer-reviewed journal articles and international conference papers, with publications in high-impact journals such as Energy and Buildings, Indoor and Built Environment, and Advanced Engineering Informatics. His research interests include Sustainable Design Optimization, Mixed-Mode Cooling, Adaptive Building Façades, Indoor Environmental Quality Assessment, Life-Cycle Cost Analysis, and Building Performance Simulation Using Tools such as CFD and Dynamic Thermal Modeling.
