Marwa Hassan Khalil is currently an associate professor at the Department of Architectural Engineering and Environmental Design, Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport – Cairo- Egypt. Marwa completed her undergraduate studies at Cairo University in 2000 and obtained her Master’s degree in Architecture from Cairo University in 2003. In 2007, she was awarded her Ph.D. degree in Architecture from Cairo University. Her research interests include urban studies, environment and behavior studies, community design and participatory approaches, design research and architectural education. Marwa is also a licensed practicing architect in Egypt and has previously worked for various architectural firms in Cairo. She has also participated in different architectural design competitions.
