biography

Mohamed Ramzy Ibrahim was born in 25th of October, 1995 at Alexandria, Egypt. He is working as an Assistant Lecturer in Computer Engineering Department, College of Engineering and Technology, Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), Alexandria, Egypt. Currently, he is studying PhD in Computer Vision Center (CVC), Universtait Autonuma de Barcelona, Barcelona, Spain. He achieved his BSc. and MSc. degree in Computer Engineering from AASTMT, Alexandria, Egypt in 2018 and 2020 respectively. His research interest includes: Computer Vision, Multi-Spectral and Medical Image Processing, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Data Mining, Data Science and Analytics.

Smart IoT-based Waste Management System

A Smart Internet-of-Thing based waste management paradigm, “EmpTrash”, is deployed to make garbage collection semi-automated to provide clean, healthy, hygienic and green environment in new smart cities. It aims to provide a management system and follow-up services for transporting and recycling waste in a smart, automatic way. Waste containers were designed with an electronic mechanism by adding different sensors to facilitate the monitoring of waste management and recycling processes in an automated manner that ensures a clean environment, adapting the service to the areas’ most in need, and following it up on Google Maps. This helps to avoid pollution and epidemics resulting from toxic emissions, accumulated waste. The containers are designed to contain sensors to measure gas emissions and how full the waste is in the container. Through the project, more than one geographical area can be monitored at the same time using IoT technologies, and a website was designed that can be used in the neighborhoods, the governorate, the Ministry of Environment to follow up the waste recycling and control processes and direct the service to the areas’ most in need with high efficiency while protecting the environment from Pollution.
