Dr Amal graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Alexandria University in 1990 as the top student of her class with Distinction Honor. She was tenured in the Faculty of Pharmacy, Alexandria University in the Department of Pharmacology, where she obtained her master’s and Ph.D. degrees in 1996 & 2002, respectively. Her research interest is mainly focused on the factors involved in the control of blood pressure and renal function as well as the mechanisms underlying the cardiovascular and nephrotoxic adverse effects of drugs. Dr Amal has more than 20 publications in Highly ranked International Journals. In September 2006, Dr. Amal joined the first private University in Alexandria governorate, Pharos University in Alexandria, PUA, as sabbatical leave from Alexandria University to share in the foundation of the newly inaugurated Faculty of Pharmacy and University. In January 2008, she was promoted to Associate Professor, and in June 2008 she was appointed the Head of Academic Advising in PUA. In April 2009, the PUA President selected Dr Amal to be the Dean of Admission & Registration. In September 2011, Dr. Amal left PUA to join the Faculty of Pharmacy in Beirut Arab University, BAU, Lebanon, and acted as Head of the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics as well as the Faculty Academic Coordinator. Dr Amal was involved in the procedures and activities in BAU to obtain the accreditation of the Pharmacy program by the CCAPP. Dr Amal returned back to her mother Country and Faculty in July 2016 where she was promoted to Professor and served as the Executive Director of the Quality Assurance Unit, followed by her appointment as Vice-Dean for Education and Student Affairs (December 2017 - November 2019), where she leaded all the steps in the update of the BPharm undergraduate program as well as the inauguration of the Pharmacy Practice Department. Dr Amal Resigned from Alexandria University in November 2019 to join the Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport, AASTMT, as a full-time tenured Academic Staff member in the College of Pharmacy. Dr Amal had several appointments since then in the AASTMT: Vice-Dean for Educational Affairs, Abu Kir campus, February 2020 – April 2022, President Assistant for Pharmaceutical Affairs, June 2021 – April 2022, and finally the Vice-Dean for Student Affairs in the College of Pharmacy, El-Alamein Campus, May 2022 to date. The AASTMT President assigned Dr Amal the responsibility of the ACPE International Accreditation of the Pharmacy Programs in July 2021, which was granted to all programs in January and June 2023.
