"Egyptian Wildlife Hackathon" Contest at AASTMT

Under the patronage of H.E Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghafar Ismail Farag – President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), The Egyptian Collegiate Programming Contest of AASTMT Regional Informatics Center (RIC) in cooperation with U.S. Embassy in Cairo organized a competition of “Egyptian Wildlife Hackathon Contest” that entitled “CODE WILD EGYPT: Wildlife Hackathon”, during 23 - 24 October 2019 at AASTMT AbuKir Campus - Alexandria, where the contest promotes technology solutions to combat wildlife trafficking, as software developers, coders, graphic designers, and wildlife enthusiasts will use technology to tackle wildlife conservation challenges.
The contest was held with the participation of 200 students from different Egyptian universities, as 42 teams of students were formed, and 9 teams reached the final competition, as it’s worth to mention that AASTMT teams won the first and second places in “CODE WILD EGYPT: Wildlife Hackathon” Contest.
