A Feasibility Study & Design for The Entrance Side Channel at Port Said East PortClient: General Authority of Port Said Ports Location: Port Said - Egypt End Date: April 2010 Description: Due to the huge increase of the size of container ships consequently the number of containers handled, PSPA assigned the maritime research and consultant center to perform a Feasibility Study & design for a separate entrance channel to the Port Said Northern entrance (length 9 km-width 250m-depth 18.5). The separate entrance channel will save the time wasted by container ships and other ship types at the port waiting area, until being permitted to enter within the Suez Canal convoy, the mentioned time saving will be reflected in cost savings for container ships and shipping lines as well as to the container terminals of the whole port area. • An Economic, technical feasibility study was prepared to establish an entrance channel. • Participation in design work. • Tender document preparation. • Evaluation of technical and financial proposals
